Herbeumont bathing area
Swimming and sunbathing beside the Semois. The Nawés beach.
The beach is reached by a local road and by an access route made accessible for use by people with reduced mobility. The site is crossed by a tourist footpath that meets up with other signposted walks.
If you are coming from Bertrix, follow directions signposted for ‘La Garenne’ at the entrance to the village, just before the Ravel bridge. For those arriving from the direction of Florenville, continue through Herbeumont and after the bridge, turn left and go down towards the Nawés windmill.
Swimming and walking
The beach is also the starting point for a walk, the Pierre Perrin walk, for you to enjoy the peaceful environment and nature’s marvels along the meanderings of the Semois river. The beach onto the Semois is on a slight incline to ensure safe bathing.
It should also be noted that this beach is upstream of the weir of the same name, and this keeps the water level at around 1 to 1.2 metres at its deepest point. The rocky side has grassy areas, huts and benches. The schist rock walls channel the riverbed.
